In the near future, after repeated natural disasters, the world’s population is reduced to its minimum and its living conditions are conditioned by extreme climatic conditions. Humanity has reorganized itself into small communities that have politically constituted themselves into city-states. Episodes of Wildlife follows the daily life of political intervention and decision-making in a city on the verge of its final catastrophe: disappearance. In suspense, the city faces an urgent decision between two proposals for the survival of the community threatened by water scarcity.
Our life
In the second episode, the government discusses the two proposals for the city’s future. Between war or exodus, both options seem to carry high human and moral costs. From technical expositions to an analysis of the implications, the political debate reveals family clashes, personal ambitions and notions of national identity, in a plot and discourse that revisit Greek tragedy.
